1.Importance
Most of people in the world rely on surface water, because surface water is the main drinking
water. Drinking water industry is faced with the threat of surface water pollution, which will lead to human security issues.Cyanobacterial toxins is the secretion of Cyanobacteria(Blue-green Algae) which is the most extensive pollution, the most study of a class of algal toxins until now.
Present from the different strains of Microcystis isolated and identified 60 species microcystin structure. The most commonly known to exist at present, were relatively more toxic is mainly MC-LR, MC-RR, MC-YR and several species, of which microcystin LR (Microcystin-LR) is currently the most toxic known and largest acute hazards of a fresh water algae toxin.
Because not timely detection of changes in water quality pollution and take appropriate control measures, resulting in accumulation of these toxins in fish or shellfish, and pass through the food chain, directly present in drinking water or recreational water, the serious threat to human health, many issues has happened on algal toxin poisoning and death caused by accident. In recent years, pollution of freshwater algae has become a global environmental problems.
2.Overview
This test kit is based on the competitive enzyme immunoassay for the detection of Microcystin and nodularin in the sample. The protein analogue is pre-coated on the micro-well stripes.When there are Microcystin, nodularin and analogues in the sample, they and protein analogues compete for anti-Microcystin antibodies.After the addition of the enzyme conjugate, the TMB substrate is added for coloration. The optical density (OD) value of the testing sample has a negative correlation with the Microcystin concentration in the sample. This value is compared to the standard curve and the Microcystin concentration is subsequently obtained.
Nodularin
A variety of organic and inorganic substances in water samples has no interference with this product. As compounds deteriorating due to interference by the matrix reaction is not possible to completely be avoided.Wrong operation maybe cause the wrong testings results, Such as:the elisa is under wrong storage conditions;wrong order of adding reagent;amount of reagent added is not correct;incubation time is too long or too short;incubation temperature is too high or too low; Operation should not be done under the bright light.
3.Performance Data
Sensitivity: detection limit 0.1ppb(ng/L)
Repeatability: Coefficient of variation of the standard (CVs) <10%；
Coefficient of variation of samples (CVs) <15%
Optional:This detection method show very good cross-reaction for blue-green algae virus Cyclic peptide analogues.
