Yeast Cell Wall

Yeast cell wall is consists mainly of polysaccharides made up of three sugars, glucose, mannose, and N-acetylglucosamine. One of the glucose polysaccharides, β-1, 3 glucan, is the major structural component of the wall.
Yeast cell wall Thickness of 0.1 to 0.3 μ m, and weight of the dry weight of 18% to 30%, mainly from the D-glucan and D-mannan two polysaccharide components, which contains a small amount of protein, fat, Ore material, mainly composed of cellulose from yeast, similar to the structure of its sandwiches. For the outer mannan, or cell wall dry weight of 40% to 45%. The middle layer is a layer of protein molecules, the cell wall about 10% of dry weight. Some of these are combined with the cell wall in the form of the enzyme.
