Foreign Wine Traders March To Guangzhou Market Through Hosfair

The latest data shows that the sales of foreign drink in China, especially wine have experienced sustained and rapid growth in recent years. With an average annual consumption of foreign drink up to RMB 1 billion, which hold 20 percent of the total consumption of drinks, Guangzhou become the largest foreign drink consuming market. This huge market with big potential and wide prospect attracted more and more wine traders from Europe and America taking Guangzhou as a bridge to advance to Chinese market.
According to statistics from Austrade, the export amount of Australian bottled wine had topped one million boxes till March of 2008 and China has become the largest consumer market in Asia. Nowadays, more and more verities of Australian bottle wine emerged in Chinese market and a large number of Australian wine exporters are seeking for partners and buyers constantly in China. In cognizance of the characteristics of international hospitality supplies fair’s development and the demand of domestic market, Hosfair Guangzhou 2009 decisively targeted at wine market and seized the business opportunity. During the period of the fair in June, International Wine Stage (ISW) joined forces with Guangzhou Huazhan Exhibition Co., Ltd and an individual sector special for international wine promoting was established, which attracted exhibitors from 7 countries, including Australia, France, Canada, Chile, America, and South Africa.
Alan Morrell, the vice consul general of Australia posted at Guangzhou said, “We are committed ourselves to the development of industry and establish a close cooperative relation with China. I hope that this exhibition can be a bridge through which Guangzhou people are able to contact with more Australian wine traders, deepen their knowledge of Australian wine and achieve a mutually-beneficial trade relationship.
