Conductor Structure
Aluminium Clad Steel Reinforced Core
The reinforced core consists of 1, 7, or 19 strands of aluminium clad steel wires, concentrically twisted together. Each wire features a low-carbon steel core fully coated with an aluminium layer, with the aluminium thickness accounting for not less than 10% of the steel wire diameter.
Positioned at the center of the conductor, the aluminium clad steel core provides the primary mechanical strength. Because the aluminium coating shares the same base material as the outer aluminium conductor layer, electrochemical corrosion caused by heterogeneous metal contact is effectively avoided.
Conductive Aluminium Layer
High-purity aluminium wires are concentrically stranded around the aluminium clad steel core to form the conductive layer. The wires have a circular cross-section, with the number of outer strands increasing according to conductor size.
The aluminium layer serves as the main path for electrical current transmission. A controlled lay length of 12–16 times the outer diameter ensures tight bonding with the reinforced core, maintaining structural integrity and stable electrical performance.
