Eemergency lighting is a means of secondary illumination that
must be provided immediately, when the power supply to the normal lighting fails, the minimum backup duration of the emergency lighting is specified by local regulations and is generally between 1 and 3 hours. All our units have a 3—3.5 hour internal battery, self-contained emergency lighting and fire exit signs are classified according to their modes of operation.
Emergency lights and emergerncy lighting provides lighting in corridors, stairwells, ramps, escalators, aisles, and exit passageways during power outages. If your emergency lights fail to operate properly, the building occupants can become disoriented.
Testing Procedures for Emergency Lights
90 Minute full function test
Disconnect AC power supply to each emergency light
Check battery and lens for sulfation
Clean each emergency light and lens as required
Adjust beam for proper alignment
Place Testing Label on the emergency light and Record in Testing Log
Troubleshooting/repair may also include
Checking and adjusting charging system voltage
Checking battery output voltage
Check line voltage to remote fixtures
exit sign is illuminated by light emitting diodes (LED's) and produces a smooth look without any hot spots. he expected LED life can exceed 80 years. The 0SCE1 series sign is built with a white thermoplastic housing and is fully guarenteed for 10 years.
Most exit signs around the world are in pictogram form, with or without text supplement. There has been a shift towards the adoption of such exit signs in the recent decade. A small minority of nations adhered to the exit signs that show the word "EXIT" (or similar in another language). Its purpose is guiding people to the closest exit in case of fire or other emergency.
