Spread Tow Carbon Fiber Fabric represents a breakthrough in lightweight composite reinforcement technology.
Developed through an advanced tow-spreading process, it delivers ultra-thin layers with aerospace-grade precision, exceptional fiber alignment, and surface quality that surpass traditional woven fabrics.
What Is Spread Tow Carbon Fiber Fabric?
Spread tow technology flattens and widens carbon fiber tows by 3–5 times their original width, creating a single-layer fabric with a thickness below 0.05mm. The result is a next-generation reinforcement material that dramatically improves surface finish, weight reduction, and mechanical performance.
Through a special widening process, carbon fiber filaments are calendered to 3 to 5 times their original width to form an extremely thin layer material with a single-layer thickness of less than 0.05mm, achieving:
● The surface density is reduced by 40% (up to a minimum of 30g/m˛).
● Fiber straightness > 98% (eliminating the bending loss of traditional woven fabrics)
● Porosity < 0.3% (resin impregnation rate is increased by 2 times)
